Band Bio:

Like many stories, ours begins with what seemed like a fairly typical act. A young man named Rafeeul asked another young man, Kyle, to play drums in a band with a guy named Frank. At this point, our story could have easily ended; however, fate had other plans. You see, a teacher was looking for a band to accompany him in a talent show for charity and, as luck would have it, Kyle was in Haber’s class. Well, you can’t have a band with vocals and drums only…or at least not a successful band, so the hunt was on for a guitarist. As it turns out, in the same exact class with Kyle and Haber was Juan, an aspiring guitarist. So, the trio decided to suit up and play the talent show with about a week to go. Luckily, Kyle also knew Rafeeul from Frank’s band and recruited him for the new “band”. Unfortunately, the foursome still had one major flaw and that was the lack of a bass player. After a few days in the orchestra room, Haber, Kyle, Juan and Rafeeul noticed Matt hanging around. As it turned out, Matt played classical and electric bass and when asked, agreed to join this misguided endeavor with about two days to go before the show. Around this time, it was also decided that since the band members would soon be graduating, that perhaps this rag tag bunch stay together and become a real band, but what would we call ourselves?

As it turns out, both Kyle and Rafeeul had committed to a band with Frank (remember him?) but Frank’s band was not progressing and so Rafeeul and Kyle left Frank’s band officially. If it were not for Frank, Kyle would not have known Rafeeul, and Haber would not have known to ask Kyle to play drums. Plus, if Frank’s band had been super successful, Kyle and Rafeeul would never have left. So in the end, if it were not for Frank, we would not be a band. Thus, we truly are the “Courtesy of Frank”.

We call ourselves a rock band, but what we create is much more than that. Although we have been together for a year we have increasingly focused on expressing our eclectic style with original music. What we are creating is more of a fusion of various styles including hard rock, alternative, blues, and funk. Our music is the product of our members' varied background and growing experiences. We love all of rock ‘n’ roll, and we reflect this in our endeavor to create thoughtful music that pays homage to rock, and yet expands its reach with a progressive edge. We truly stand on the shoulders of giants while keeping a steady eye on the future.

Since our beginning we have had some amazing opportunities and some significant struggles. In mid 2010 it was decided that Rafeeul and the band would part ways due to musical differences. The parting was difficult but amicable. The band cannot thank Rafeeul enough for his contribution. He will be missed. Although now a quartet, Courtesy of Frank is still going strong. We look forward to continuing to create a unique and fun sound for all of our fans. We also look forward to you joining us on our musical journey. In a world without politeness, we have come to your service. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the musical ride, “Courtesy of Frank”.

Sincerely,
Frank
